Lab Intern (Part/Time)
Position Summary
The lab intern will be responsible for general housekeeping and laboratory duties. This position acts as an assistant to Lab Technicians.
Essential Job Functions
- Clean lab dishes and dump samples in to the correct location.
- Take care of the recycling in the Laboratory.
- Replenish lab supplies.
- Help with chemical inventory.
- Enter blending/filling schedule into lab batch display, print out test sheets, and print labels.
- Find COA’s for lab techs or call and request COA’s
- Scan and electronically file test sheets, COA’s, obsolete specifications, SDS’s, and misc. documents.
- Wipe down counter tops and keep the lab clean.
- Sand copper strips.
- Prepare pentane filters for the laboratory.
- Unpack and label reagents.
- Keep sample room up-to-date with dumping old retain samples which includes dissolving old powders and polymers with base oil.
- Complete general office tasks - laminating, collecting mail, getting office supplies, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or GED, must be a current college student.
Experience
Years of Experience: Must be working toward a BS in Chemistry or similar; 0 – 2 years laboratory experience (entry level)

- Self-motivated and team oriented.
- Must be flexible with work assignments.
- Able to work within established procedures associated with specific job functions.
- Good attention to detail with a good level of accuracy. Developing organization and time management skills.
