Sustainability Intern

Galls is looking to add a talented person to our team who is enthusiastic about supply chain and sustainability efforts. This position is intended to be a 6-month paid internship, with a possibility for advancement after internship. You will join our team in developing, supporting, and driving our sustainability initiative within our supply chain network. You will have the opportunity to learn about this growing and exciting field while working alongside experienced professionals on our Distribution and Logistics teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Evaluate current supply chain and logistics networks with a focus on identifying sustainability opportunities
  • Establish Supply Chain Sustainability Program for Galls
  • Benchmark sustainability best-practices and find those that are economically viable
  • Develop and implement processes to use those economically viable best practices at Galls
  • Track sustainability efforts, including other economic benefits, and yield monthly reports
  • Ensure program, practices, and reporting are supportable and handed off at the end of the internship
  • Other duties assigned as needed

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or advanced degree program in Sustainability, Sustainable Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and/or related field
  • Passion for sustainability and green initiatives
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills (you’re comfortable talking to any level of employee)
  • A collaborative and innovative spirit
  • Proficient in use of MS Office, specific emphasis on Excel and Access for reporting
  • Able to work flexible schedules, which may include nights and/or weekends
  • Basic understanding of lean and continuous improvement concepts – Six Sigma training preferred
  • An investigative approach to problem solving – you’re not one to just scratch the surface; you care to get to the root cause of issues and come up with long-term solutions to resolve them
  • Excellent presentation skills – you’re assured assessing, and reporting back your findings
